Located-The original mural is on a wall of the refectory (dining hall) in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy.

  1. It took three years to make it. He began it in 1495 and finished it in 1498

  3. It's really - 460 x 880 cm (15 x 29 feet). It covers an entire large wall,but now they make it smaller to hang behind someones couch.
  4. Because his employer asked him to make this magnificiant painting, Leonardo worked for Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, for about eighteen years (1482-1499). The Duke decided he wanted this particular religious scene painted and Leonardo, who was not stupid, decided he wanted it to be perfect and to be valuable.
  5. There is a crack in the last supper picture because it as painted dry instead of wet or moist

Why it is important- The Last Supper painting is important because that was the day after Jesus Christ was crucified. He rose again, and went to the last supper.
